I’m Sergio Maiis, a fashion and editorial photographer working internationally with models, artists, brands, DJs, influencers, and creative teams across Turkey, Georgia, and the UAE.

While Istanbul remains my main base, Tbilisi has become one of the most important cities in my creative journey. I fly to Tbilisi almost every month for projects, editorials, campaigns, model tests, and creative productions. Over time, the city became more than just another shooting destination — it became a place of inspiration and artistic freedom for me.

Tbilisi has a completely unique atmosphere that is difficult to find anywhere else in Europe or the Middle East. The city combines Soviet architecture, old European streets, underground culture, brutalist buildings, artistic freedom, vintage textures, mountains, modern fashion culture, and raw cinematic energy. Every corner of the city feels visually authentic and emotionally cinematic.

Because of this atmosphere, Tbilisi is perfect for:

One of the things I love most about working in Tbilisi is the creative freedom. The city feels raw, emotional, artistic, and honest. Many of my favorite editorials and fashion stories were created there. Compared to many larger cities, Tbilisi still has a strong underground artistic spirit, which makes every project feel more authentic and less commercial.

I regularly collaborate with local and international models, agencies, stylists, and brands while shooting in Georgia. Many clients specifically book photoshoots in Tbilisi because they want visuals that feel cinematic, fashionable, emotional, and different from typical luxury content.

At the same time, Dubai represents a completely different visual direction.

Dubai is about luxury, масштаб, architecture, futuristic aesthetics, premium lifestyle, and high-end production value. It is one of the best cities in the world for creating luxury fashion visuals, rooftop campaigns, hotel editorials, yacht productions, and modern cinematic content.

What makes working between Istanbul, Tbilisi, and Dubai so inspiring for me is the contrast between these cities. Istanbul brings cultural depth and cinematic chaos, Tbilisi brings artistic freedom and underground aesthetics, while Dubai brings luxury, масштаб, and futuristic energy.

This combination strongly influences my photography style and allows me to create visuals that feel international, cinematic, fashion-oriented, and emotionally powerful.
